On this orientation tour you'll be introduced to Aegina's rich and interesting religious history. First stop will be as the hill of Paliachora, where small quaint stone churches, some dating back to the 9th century A.D., dot the hillside. Lovingly painted, very old frescoes adorn many of the churches' inside walls. Close by, the huge, imposing, ornate cathedral, dedicated to Aegina's patron saint Nektarius is awe inspiring. These places of worship will illuminate the love and dedication that inhabitants of Aegina have felt and still feel, for their religion. The magnificent temple of Afaia, one of Greece's best preserved, Doric styled, temples is built in an exceptionally beautiful setting, surrounded by pine forests with spectacular views. You'll enjoy Aegina's natural beauty - olive groves, Pistachio tree orchards, unspoiled hillsides and beautiful sea views. And to finish off a great tour, you'll have the opportunity to sample some of the best cuisine that Greece has to offer! Transportation is included.
